The Basics of Boardmanship
Veteran board members and SCSBA staff conduct this three-hour session on-site as a member service. The workshop emphasizes board-superintendent relations, policy and administration, working as a team, Freedom of Information requirements and executive sessions. This session includes Boardmanship Institute credit and is recommended when a board has new members.
Master Board Institute
The Master Board Institute is offered on-site and at a time convenient for all members of the board and the superintendent.
This knowledge and skills-based program, developed jointly by the North Carolina School Boards Association and the Institute for Government at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is adapted for South Carolina school boards.
Each four-hour course carries Boardmanship Institute credit.
