SCSBA invites you to become a member through our Affiliate or Associate membership programs. Membership annually operates from July 1 through June 30. As a non-profit organization, SCSBA relies on your support of the membership programs to expand program offerings, services, and training to school board members. Membership demonstrates your support of public schools and those who serve them.

The Associate Member program is open to businesses or individuals. Members represent law and accounting firms, construction companies, computer software companies and more. SCSBA provides two types of Associate memberships - Standard Associate and Special Associate.

Standard Associate ($425 a year)

Membership includes:

  • Promotional materials of SCSBA statewide training workshops
  • One subscription to SCSBA publications including the popular electronic news clipping service featuring education and political news stories in SC daily newspapers, the electronic Focus newsletter, Legislative Update, and other special issue publications.
  • Gift for new Associates
  • Directory listing on the SCSBA Web site
  • Directory listing in the annual convention program
  • Participant list for statewide workshops (upon request)

Special Associate ($1,075 a year)

Includes all other benefits listed for the Standard Associate Membership &

Expanded annual convention package, which includes an exhibit booth, full-page ad in convention program and listing on Web site with link to company Web site ($150-plus savings).

The Affiliate Member Program is open to boards of South Carolina's publicly supported educational institutions that are not designated as school districts. These may include, but not limited to, boards of vocational or career education centers, state-supported public institutions and county boards of education.

Membership includes for each member of the board:

  • Promotional materials of SCSBA statewide training workshops
  • Subscriptions to SCSBA publications including the popular electronic news clipping service featuring education and political news stories in SC daily newspapers, the electronic Focus newsletter, Legislative Update, and other special issue publications.
  • Participation in the SCSBA Boardmanship Institute providing credits to board members attending statewide training workshops.

Each board receives:

  • Gift for new Affiliates
  • Directory listing on the SCSBA Web site
  • Directory listing in the annual convention program
