About Us: Board of Directors

Executive Director

Paul Krohne

Dr. Paul Krohne of New Hampshire joined SCSBA as executive director on January 1, 2001.

Dr. Krohne served as executive director for the New Hampshire School Boards Association (NHSBA) for seven years and was an adjunct professor of educational leadership at Furman University in Greenville prior to joining SCSBA.

Dr. Krohne holds his Ed.D. in school administration from Indiana University where he also received his Master's in elementary education. He earned a   B.S. in elementary education from the University of Evansville.

During his 30-year career in public education, Dr. Krohne has worked as a teacher, held positions with the Indiana Department of Education including deputy commissioner of public instruction, served as senior policy advisor for education in the Office of the Governor of Indiana and taught at Ohio University.

He joined NHSBA in 1986 as deputy executive director and was named director in 1993. At NHSBA, Dr. Krohne served as chief lobbyist, worked with policy, media relations, strategic planning and superintendent searches. He served on the state executive directors' liaison executive committee for the National School Boards Association.


SCSBA Executive Board

SCSBA's 22-member board of directors, representing different regions of the state, serves as the governing body for the association. The board sets policies for the association, approves the annual budget, hires and evaluates the executive director and handles other responsibilities described in the SCSBA constitution and policy manual. The board meets at least three times annually and participates in a yearly retreat.
